WHY (WE) SIMPLIFY SEO?

People who work in the search engine optimization industry (often) obsess on every little change in the search engines. It's what they do for a living. You don't have that kind of time. SEO isn't what you do for a living. You have a business to run. Perhaps a family. Maybe you want a social life that's not on blogger, facebook or twitter. But, you still want better rankings. More traffic. We can help.

NOT A TECH GEEK?

Well, thank heavens, because, that's what we do! Stop beating yourself up for it already... you don't need to be a tech geek to run a business. You just need to know one. Aren't you glad you found us?! Go ahead. Browse. Enjoy!

Google says don’t trade links…

There’s so much bad “search engine optimization” advice out there that a lot of website owners are hopelessly confused and I don’t blame them one bit.

Take link trading. Have you heard this?

Everyone and their dog will tell you that trading links will increase your link popularity and you’ll rank better in Google. A lot of SEOs (search engine optimizers) even sell link building services.

Except…. participating in “link schemes” for ranking purposes is against Google’s terms of service.

When Google detects link trading, they often nullify the site’s ability to pass along page rank. So you could be trading links with sites that don’t have the ability to pass you any page rank anyway.

  1. my ebiz toolbox Says:

I understand that reciprocal linking will not help a site that much.
What about trackbacks? Aren’t they actually reciprocal links?
Wouldn’t it be better for a business to try to get one way links instead working with trackbacks?
On topic trackbakcs will not hust but would they actually make a lot of difference?
    Thanks for any help.

On topic trackbacks can be as good as one way incoming links and both can help.

Let’s say I find an excellent post on Jimmy Bean’s blog. (fictional name) So, I quote Jimmy, add something worth adding and “trackback” to his post.

He hasn’t linked to me. He may down the road if he likes what I say - but my giving credit with a trackback does two things. It gives me a one way incoming link - and increases my exposure.

If trackbacks get abused, which I can totally see happening, they may become useless. But for now, if they’re done right they can be very helpful.

    :)
