Blogging Tip – Credibility is hard to get. Color me orange.

believe.png

According to an article in eMarketer, most people don’t believe most of what they read on the Internet.

Which, of course, means credibility can be harder to get than traffic or high ranking. Something to keep in mind, whether writing link bait or filler posts, is that everything you post can add to (or detract from) your credibility.

So… which group are you in? Color me orange.

so you’re saying that people don’t beleive what you say most of the time?

Jawed, close, but not quite. If you add up the numbers, 83% of people believe half or less of what they read on the Internet.

To me, that just shows that believability is hard to get, but very worth earning. I strive to write the “small portion” of stuff that’s believable to those doubtful people. (I, myself, am one of those doubtful people)

When you read some of the outrageous claims some sites make, and see the truth stretching and sensationalism out there, is it any wonder people don’t believe much of what they read?

The sad thing is the number or non-skeptics that do believe all of the trash they read.

I think it is about what we do over internet. If I am going to contribute something real and good then I’ll expect real and good. Majority of internet users have false identities and information due to fear. I think in coming years we’ll have to be brave and to do good. Count me in 13%.

If you established yourself as a reliable brand than certainly people will start believing what you types. Matt Cutts, Jemermy Shoemoney, John Chow is an example of it.

Just build yourself as reliable one and that this graph will change definitely.

I think it’s sad that people don’t believe a lot of stuff on the internet.

There’s all these sites that tell teh truth about things like 911 conspiracies, aliens, and lots of conspiracy sites. These should be taken seriously because THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!
